Movement: sprint-jumping, strafing and W-tapping
Aim wins duels, but movement sets them up. All of the following are legitimate vanilla mechanics – no mods, just inputs.
The essentials
- Sprint-jumping is the fastest way to travel and to close or open distance in a fight.
- Strafing (holding A or D while turning the mouse) lets you circle an opponent, stay on their weak side and dodge their reach.
- W-tapping – briefly releasing forward before a hit – resets your sprint so the next attack lands with extra knockback and can crit.
Knockback control
- Landing hits while your opponent is airborne extends combos; taking knockback yourself resets your positioning.
- Blocking with a shield or eating knockback on purpose can break an opponent’s rhythm.
The habit to build
Smooth, deliberate movement plus fully-charged hits beats raw clicking. Practice strafing and W-tapping until they are automatic, then let your aim do the rest.
